And in almost forty years, Amber has experienced more than her fair share of pain and loss and illness. She has also, however, experienced love and laughter and miracles. You'll find stories of all of the above in 1:03 AM.It takes a great deal of courage to bare your soul to your friends and family, and an even great deal to bare your soul to the world. That is exactly what Ms. Jerome-Norrgard has done by publishing this book. She is ripping open old wounds, revealing difficult truths, while simultaneously inviting you to share in some of the greatest joys and most profound moments of her life. I don't know many people who could do that. I know I certainly couldn't.

Honestly, I've never been very interested in poetry and personal essays, but I was encouraged to read this by a friend...and I'm VERY glad I did! Ms. Jerome-Norrgard has opened her soul, her heart, her entire person to public view and this collection of poems, essays, thoughts and opinions has changed my perception of my own life in ways I could have never imagined. Her sharing of the personal pain of failed relationships, the loss of a child, the end of a dream is balanced by her profound joy of self awareness, the birth of her daughters and forgiveness of those who have hurt her. Amber Jerome-Norrgard has a lot going on in that creative and loving mind of hers, and the more people who see the "real" her, the better this world will be.
